Properties of chlorinated polyethylene cable sheath compound

Chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) is a kind of special rubber which is modified by chlorination of polyethylene. The rubber compound produced by chlorination of polyethylene has good comprehensive properties and is an excellent substitute for Cr / CSM synthetic rubber. At present, the application of chlorinated polyethylene in cable industry is the most mature, which is widely used in the production of mine cables, marine cables, welding cables, wind power cables, ordinary rubber sheathed cables, etc.

Main features:

1. Excellent mechanical properties: comparable with chloroprene rubber, it can meet the needs of various grades of cables.

2. Excellent flame retardant, oil resistance, heat resistance, cold resistance, corrosion resistance.

3. Excellent aging resistance: CPE is saturated rubber, so it has excellent heat resistance, weather aging resistance and ozone resistance. The service life of the finished cable is long and the product grade is improved.

4. Good storage safety: CPE vulcanization system has a high sulfur onset point, and can be stored for more than half a year.

5. Processing safety: CPE has good heat resistance, excellent scorch resistance and can withstand repeated processing. High temperature durability is much better than that of chloroprene rubber.

6. Good coloring performance: because CPE is pure white powder with good colorability, it can produce all kinds of beautiful color cables, and it is not easy to change color.

7. Light specific gravity: the specific gravity of the rubber mixture is about 1.45-1.55. CPE compound with the same weight can produce longer cables than chloroprene rubber, saving volume cost and light weight.

8. Easy to use: the compound has been fully vulcanized and pressed into long sheets of different specifications. When used, it can be fed directly without re refining. The existing cable production line only needs to adjust the process parameters to produce normally.
